It is important in any home to be able to create a special place for when you want solitude.
Sometimes you just need a place to kick back and read in a place where you can get away from it all.
Here it is all about simplicity. A comfortable wingback chair, a comfortable throw in warm sunlight offers a soothing and peaceful retreat.

Your site speaks to my heart. To find someone that values the old, simple way of life in this hectic, materialistic and self-absorbed country we were swept into (when did that happen?) is a pleasure. The scraps of necessities from a hard life are my favorites. The things people made and are not perfect, but touched by hands and hearts, tears and laughter are the treasures of my soul.
I enjoyed “A Kitchen Cupboard Reborn”. I have seen that “Are you crazy? What do you want that junk for?” look many times.
“Log Home Decorating: Creating a Personal Space” reminded me of my favorite saying-”Give me kind heaven a private station, a mind serene for contemplation.” John Gay
Thank you for your site. I will visit often.

Judy –
So kind of you to say. I, a pack rat at heart, forever hold onto those elements of friends and family – they surround me and are part of me. There is a story behind everything here – there is nothing here without purpose nor the touch of a loved one.
I so appreciate your thoughts.
