Over the years I have had the great privilege of acquiring carvings of astounding detail.

Hand Carved ChickadeeCurrently here at Bearfort Lodge hidden in plain sight amongst the logs for the joy of discovery are numerous songbirds carved by Dave and Pam Berari. So far here at the Lodge you will find wrens, chickadees, nuthatches, warblers, blue birds, titmouse, cardinals, robins and a few others.

Meandering through the lodge you may suddenly spy a marsh wren perched or a nuthatch clinging to a log. Many a visitor have taken delight in the discovery.

You will also come across a number of their carved decoys. These are no ordinary decoys. Each feather is carefully carved and hand-painted. Often people have thought that these carving were taxiderm specimens. Nope. Wood. Their eyes glaze over at the detail.

Hand Carved LoonI have a Mallard, Merganser and soon will acquire a loon.

They have a serious following of collectors all over the world. Dave has been commissioned in the past for museum work – carvings of fish, whales, ducks and songbirds.

They have recently posted a website. — Bearfort Lodge Signature Black Bear Paw PrintYou need to take a look at their work.
