I hope that all is well.
The mid-winter party was a success. There was so much food. The weather was absolutely perfect and everyone had a wonderful time. There were people here throughout the day — Mostly those that couldn’t stick around for the evening — there was hot cocoa for their kids and other beverages for the adults.
Around 6pm the evening crowd began showing up. Everyone brought food — oh my there was so much food. for sure everyone was going to have to take some home.
This is the same group that usually gets together over at my neighbors Kristin and Joe’s for bon fires during the summer. Several times over the summer they have a large fire in the backyard and everyone shows up. So its nice to have everyone here as we don’t get together as much in the winter.
During the evening several people took turns at the piano - some seriously talented people - I had no idea. Great fun. There were about 40 or so people here for dinner as predicted. The ham was a bid success and there was some amazing food that people bought.
I wish you were able to join us.
All is quiet now here at the lodge and I have settled in for the remainder of winter.
I eagerly await spring.
