The caterers arrived sharp at 7am to being setting up. A bounty of a breakfast spread, quiches, bagels, cheeses, lox, coffee, juices, fresh fruit all laid out in the kitchen. South Coast Plaza is located in Orange county – Costa Mesa, California. Reviews of the shopping plaza refer to it as the Rodeo Drive of Orange County.
The crew began to arrive around 8:00 am to unload props, camera equipment, support equipment, client product and of course the models.
The shoot is for the South Coast Plaza annual holiday catalog. They wanted a log home and rustic setting.
Throughout the day holiday scenes were created for various product shots.
While the photographer outside worked with models and traditional film the photographer inside worked with product and a digital camera. The digital camera was eye opener.
It was pretty amazing to see the digital equipment used and the computer system on which they view the photos taken.
Day two the photographers will switch from their inside outside positions.
