Well I’m off and running. This summer’s road trip.
Heading out in my 1938 Chevy pick up truck pulling my 1938 Teardrop camper.
Yes the camper was built in ’38 as a prototype but the concept was shelved during the war as aluminum was not available. In the mid ’40s they became available as kits.
Anyway — I’m off and running with the first stop probably in the Cleveland area — driving west bound on Route 80 across Pennsylvania. Ill stay there overnight and continue on to Ann Arbor Michigan and see the big annual art show there.
It will also give me a chance to see my sister and brother in law. — From there I’ll Head to Jackson Michigan visit my 98 year old grandmother.
Eventually I’ll make my way on I-94 west bound heading to Chicago area to see more family and friends. – Chicago is my old stomping grounds.
Gas prices are creeping up – luckily I get about 23-25 miles to the gallon in this old truck.
On the return trip form Chicago ill get more use of the camper as I’ll be taking a more scenic route back and camping out along the way.
If you see me say introduce yourself and say hello.
This might be an adventure with the truck and all — we’ll see. Ill give an update from the road.

Wow! Sharp little pick-up and camper. Have a great trip.
Wow, that is truly beautiful. I have an old ’59 Triumph TR3A that sits in the corner partially disassembled and coated with a very thick layer of dust. One of these days I’ll have a chance to tackle *that* restoration project!
If your travels take you through Germansville, PA make sure to stop by and say hello!
