So this past weekend I had to spend some time out at the farm to take care of a few things. Of course it rains like all hell so most of my tinkering was left to inside jobs.
I went through each room noting all that needed to be done. This gave me the basis for a task list. One of the chief things to work out is a plan of action. Taking a look at the work to be done and working up a calendar of tasks breaking things down into more manageable and smaller tasks the project doesn’t seem so overwhelming. The hardest part of which is being realistic in the time it will take to accomplish everything that needs to be done to bring this old farmhouse up to date while keeping true to the historic.
The antique appliances work very well and it didn’t take much to clean them up and looking new again.
Carley Brook Farm was built around 1820. I’ve been working on restoration of the entire farm but starting with the farmhouse of course. The first order of business however is getting the caretaker’s apartment close to the original so that I have a comfy place to hang and relax at the end of the day.
All in good time.
